ARINC offers the aviation industry and airports the latest and most effective weather prediction and reporting services in the world. Our Graphic/Text Weather Service (G/TWS) delivers near-real-time graphic and text weather information to aircrews using GLOBALink^SM data link services. With G/TWS, pilots in all classes of aviation can make route and destination decisions early in the flight—before encountering deteriorating weather.

ARINC also provides terminal weather information to aircraft taking off or landing—including wind shear microbursts, gust fronts, and precipitation—information within 15 nautical miles of the airport. And our meteorological data collection and reporting system collects real-time weather reports—including wind and severe weather advisories—from participating airline crews in flight, and sends them to the National Weather Service for further dissemination.

We also offer weather-prediction systems for aircraft on the ground. Our precision lightning warning system—ForeWarn™—continuously monitors weather conditions around airports and predicts lightning strikes. Also, our deicing decision-support system measures weather conditions as they happen around airports and predicts snow and ice intensities. Both enhance safety and reduce the unnecessary curtailing of ground operations due to potential weather threats.
