Digital Migration Strategy

Digital Migration with Minimum Capital

One of the primary concerns when considering a digital migration is capital outlay. As part of ARINC’s long tradition of striving to better serve our customers, we’ve invested to become a private Integrated Digital Enhanced Network (iDEN) mobile switch operator (MSO). This investment gives our radio customers digital communications and a wide variety of new capabilities. As with analog, the switch is typically the most expensive component of a digital system. But, with the ARINC shared switch solution, we own the switch, so you only pay a flat monthly fee to use the service.

If you’re one of the many spectrum holders who will be funded for retuning under the FCC’s 800 Mhz rebanding initiative, you could use that money to upgrade your traditional analog systems to the ARINC digital service.

Even if you’re not affected by the FCC rebanding initiative, but are ready to move up to digital, migration may never be easier or more cost-effective than with the ARINC shared switch service.

Digitize to Maximize

With ARINC’s Wireless Dispatch service, a 6-to-1 analog-to-digital conversion results in a 500% increase in capacity. What’s more, the service allows for integration of low cost subscriber units that include:

  • unlimited dispatch (one-to-one and one-to-many)
  • talkaround
  • interconnect
  • voice mail
  • short message service
  • packet data
  • GPS

You get all the features you could want rolled into a single unit that’s always available and always on. It doesn’t get better than that.

Based on iDEN Technology

ARINC’s Wireless Dispatch Service combines ARINC’s global communications network with Motorola’s iDEN technology. Together, the combination of ARINC and Motorola delivers the ultimate digital communications service at the touch of a button. In fact, users can broadcast a voice message instantly with one person, or even hundreds of individuals. The choice is yours.

Know ARINC, Know Service

In the 1920s, the FCC designated ARINC as the sole spectrum manager for all non-government aeronautical communications. Today, ARINC is recognized as the world leader in transportation communications and systems engineering. We’re ISO 9001-2000 Certified and Compliant, and are the only private nationwide iDEN operator. And, we provide radio service and support around the clock all day, everyday.

We’ve been providing air-to-ground, ground-to-ground, and many other types of communications for decades and the wireless dispatch service is only a natural extension. Our service is accessible and reliable because we know what service means.
