The ARINC Mobile Communications Gateway is a portable, rugged, self-contained system that provides users with Internet, wireless Local Area Network, and recharging power. It allows multiple Wi-Fi enabled devices to communicate with each other and access the Internet in locations where access is usually not possible. The Mobile Communications Gateway connects to the Internet using built-in third-generation (3G) cellular data communications, and provides battery-charging capabilities for electronic devices through two built-in USB charging ports.

ARINC’s Mobile Communications Gateway is the perfect complement to our SkyBuy Point of Sale and Inventory Control service. Traditional buy-on-board systems require the PoS devices to be taken off the aircraft to recharge and transmit credit-card transaction data, which makes the devices susceptible to loss and damage. With the Mobile Communications Gateway, PoS recharging and transaction upload can occur onboard the aircraft.

The Mobile Communications Gateway Wi-Fi-to-3G gateway can greatly accelerate the exchange of information in airline processes such as electronic flight bag document updates, access to online documents by aircraft maintenance personnel, catering, refueling, and baggage-handling.

ARINC offers the Mobile Communications Gateway as a communications service, owning all hardware and providing complete plane-side delivery and maintenance. Any malfunctioning units will be removed and replaced at your next major stopover.
