The ARINC Mobile Communications Gateway^TM is a portable, rugged, self-contained system that provides users with Internet connectivity and wireless local area network access—using built-in third-generation (3G) cellular data communications, and enabling Wi-Fi devices to communicate freely where it’s not usually possible.

The Mobile Communications Gateway is the perfect complement to our SkyBuy Point-of-Sale (PoS) and Inventory Control service. Traditional buy-on-board systems require the PoS devices to be taken off the aircraft to recharge and transmit credit card transaction data, which makes the devices susceptible to loss and damage. With the Mobile Communications Gateway, transaction upload occurs onboard the aircraft—boosting operational efficiency and minimizing potential errors.

The Mobile Communications Gateway Wi-Fi-to-3G gateway greatly accelerates the exchange of information in airline processes such as electronic flight bag document updates, access to online documents by aircraft maintenance personnel, catering, refueling, and baggage-handling.
