The offering rounds out ARINC’s existing satellite communications portfolio of services that the aviation industry trusts for unparalleled communications.

Designed to overcome challenges of intermittent voice communications in oceanic, polar, and remote regions where ground stations are unreliable or nonexistent, GLOBALink/Iridium provides robust communications to anywhere on earth.

The addition of GLOBALink/Iridium makes sense: equipage costs are minimal while providing a system that is efficient and economical.

GLOBALink/Iridium’s data link supports Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) connectivity to deliver the position reports, estimated time of arrival, and other key flight data pilots require. Iridium avionics can support connections to electronic flight bag systems for two-way messaging, weather information, and myriad applications.

An Iridium solution also provides redundancy to VHF voice and data communications so flight crews have a backup in the event communications systems fail. Using GLOBALink/Iridium, customers also obtain complete global coverage, avoiding incremental fees from multiple communications suppliers.
