Identity Management System (IdMS)The ARINC Identity Management System (IdMS) is a flexible and robust security system that collects, verifies, and maintains biometric and biographical information, without jeopardizing personal privacy or business efficiency.
The innate flexibility of IdMS makes it tailorable for a number of different purposes and settings. For Registered Traveler ProgramsPassengers can improve their travel experience by enrolling in voluntary programs. In return, they receive the convenience of expedited processing through security and border checkpoints. As a partner in Verified Identity Pass, Inc., ARINC’s IdMS is deployed as a part of the ClearTM registered traveler program in U.S. airports. For Airports and AirlinesIdMS can help airports and airlines verify the identity of persons boarding a plane or entering a secure area. It can also be used to screen employees, workers, and tenants, and to expedite flight and maintenance crew checks. For Government AgenciesIdMS is a comprehensive solution for federal and local government agencies responsible for border management, hazardous material management, and secure, high-risk facilities. For CompaniesIdMS can help businesses and organizations improve security for their network resources or to manage access to their most secure areas. IdMS System Architecture IdMS uses a client/server architecture to perform the pre-enrollment, enrollment, and verification functions. The server houses the “rules” that govern the client system operation, acts as the central repository for the identity data, and performs the risk assessment functions. Pre-enrollment: IdMS users can pre-enroll via the web, or at a dedicated kiosk at the airport. Biographic information is collected so that risk assessment and background checks can be initiated prior to enrollment. Enrollment: At airports, travelers can enroll at a registered traveler enrollment center to verify identity documents and have their biometric information (fingerprints, iris scans, etc.) collected. Enrollment data is submitted to the TSA/TSC for background checks. Verification: ARINC supports token-based verification which uses smart cards, 2D barcodes, or other devices containing the person’s biometric data collected during enrollment. This data is compared with the person’s biometric data collected at the verification location. ARINC also supports token-less identification, which uses only biometric input that is compared with data on file. |

IdMS supports all phases of the identity management life cyclepre-enrollment, enrollment, verification, and risk assessmentand has a system module corresponding to each life cycle phase. The IdMS modules perform the functions pertinent to each phase, while placing particular emphasis on privacy. Modules can be deployed individually or as a complete system and customized to meet specific industry or government-based needs.
