Digital Signature

In today's electronic world, many businesses and agencies continue to process important documents the cumbersome, old-fashioned way—using handwritten signatures and postal mail. Using a combination of electronic documents, e-mail, and ARINC's Digital Signature service, businesses can process documents electronically—automating many paper-intensive processes and saving valuable time and money.

A digital signature certificate is actually a person's digital identity. It is a unique stamp on an electronic file, showing that a specific person signed that document. By using private/public signing key pairs and cryptography techniques, digital signatures provide signature authenticity and file integrity. If a subscriber's private signing key is compromised in any way, ARINC will immediately revoke the private/public key pair. The subscriber can then request a new key pair.

It is easy and convenient to obtain a digital signature certificate. We offer a Certification Authority that issues private/public key pairs and PKI technology to implement digital signatures on electronic documents or provide a secondary means of authentication for predesignated individuals.

ARINC's Digital Signature service can take any electronic form and incorporate into it a template to build a digital signature block into the document. These forms can then be stored electronically, allowing greater ease in storage, access, and control. Savings occur when a document is handled by fewer people, is sent to the signers over wire instead of by mail, and is stored on hard drives instead of in cabinets. Having a traceable path to follow allows the signers to know where the document has come from and where it went.

ARINC has local registration agents (LRAs) throughout the United States to provide in-person authentification of individual identities.
