B-2A Spirit Bomber
The Raptor software was used in the mid-1990s to determine the
probability that the B-2A could complete a conventional and nuclear
mission or sortie for any location worldwide.
The B-2A Spirit aircraft is the United States' newest installment
of strategic bombers and is a key element of the world's nuclear
triad deterrent. It is a low-observable, long-range, heavy
bomber capable of penetrating sophisticated and extensive air-defense
shields. It can conduct high-altitude attack missions up to 50,000
feet, with a range of more than 6,000 nautical miles and over
10,000 nautical miles with one refueling, giving it the ability
to fly nonstop to any point in the world. Its distinctive profile
comes from the unique "flying wing" concept with leading
wing edges angled at 33 degrees and a double-W shape trailing
edge.
