AirDB™—Airport Database

To run their operations efficiently and cost-effectively, airport managers need ready access to both current and historical airport, airline, and flight data. This information needs to be both accurate and up-to-date for these managers to confidently perform planning, reporting, and daily/seasonal scheduling activities.

Flight Information DisplayTheir staff also needs fast access from just about any terminal to the latest operational data to make timely decisions affecting their areas of responsibility. And, the system controlling the data must be capable of growing as the airport grows, be highly reliable, and facilitate the smooth exchange of current information between all relevant internal and external airport systems.

A pretty tall order! But ARINC has the answer: ARINC AirDB, the airport database.

AirDB consists of a central data warehouse and distribution center for airport-wide operational information of all types, including:

  • Seasonal flight schedules
  • Daily flight information
  • Complete flight details
  • Gates, belts, and desk assignments
  • Historical information
  • Code shares

AirDB provides every type of user airport personnel, airline staff, and other authorized vendors with the appropriate data they need to do their jobs.

To update AirDB, authorized personnel simply input flight schedule and other current information via the convenient, web-based interface. Alternatively, the system can receive current updates from other connected internal and external sources. AirDB delivers this information to all other appropriate internal and external information systems such as gate-management, check-in desk allocation, and flight-information displays. The result: all critical airport information systems have consistent, up-to-date data in real time.

AirDB servers provide scalable capabilities for expansion as needed and they use a fail-safe design, ensuring very high reliability.

Did You Know

By integrating AirDB with their other airport information systems, managers can give their operations staff access to real-time data from any location, and optimize the assignment of ticket counters, baggage carousels, and other resources. When integrated with a flight information display system, such as ARINC's AirVUE™, AirDB enables passengers to see the latest updates, including estimated times of arrival, boarding remarks, and delay information.
