National Data Integration and Test CenterKeeping today’s aircraft and weapons systems ready for tomorrow’s missions requires better ways to manage obsolescence, improved tools to locate replacement parts, and technical innovations to combat the latest sustainment problems. ARINC is helping meet these needs by hosting the National Data Integration and Test Center. The National Data Integration and Test Center (NDITC), the second technology center of the Defense Sustainment Consortium (DSC), is an independent assessor of commercially available technology, databases, and other sustainment products and systems, focusing on activities to support aging weapons systems and processes. These include obsolescence management, total life-cycle management, and the role of IT—in addition to combating counterfeiting. When an activity extends beyond the scope of this technology center, the NDITC collaborates with other DSC centers across the country as needed. The NDITC can also be contracted to find solutions to questions that industry or the Government may have about sustainment. Because of their unbiased assessing of available and upcoming products, the experts at the NDITC can suggest products that reliably meet the end user’s needs. Companies that have an innovative product or service to assist in sustaining older systems may join the NDITC. When the product or service meets the needs of a stakeholder of the DSC, the NDITC can assist the company in introducing the product to the appropriate government organization or Tier One defense contractor. The National Data Integration and Test Center allows Tier One defense contractors and DoD agencies to be assured that the recommended new sustainment tools and technologies related to long-term product life-cycle management are services worth their consideration.
