ARINC Launches APIS Messaging Service for Airlines Flying to El Salvador

Annapolis, Maryland—ARINC Incorporated today announced it is providing Advance Passenger Information System (APIS) messaging service for airlines flying into El Salvador. ARINC’s Industry-standard APIS messaging is part of its Electronic Borders security portfolio, used by government agencies around the world.

ARINC’s Aviation Network Solutions Division installed the new APIS messaging service with full support and cooperation from the IT staff at El Salvador’s Immigration agency and TACA Airlines—the national flag carrier of El Salvador and an ARINC communications customer.

APIS messaging is increasingly demanded by government agencies because it provides pre-arrival and pre-departure manifest data on all passengers and crew, improving the security of national borders. ARINC’s service in El Salvador includes network transport technology, messaging service, and message format translation.

“Prior to this service, the procedure for sending APIS messages was labor intensive.  ARINC has simplified the process and has added effectiveness, efficiency, reliability, and price competitiveness,” stated Josue Serrano, TACA’s APIS project lead.
