New AeroConnxTM Platform by ARINC Helps Airlines Manage Their Fleet Data and Messages

October 28, 2008

Singapore—The adoption of electronic flight bags (EFBs) and an increased use of operational messaging have caused today’s airlines to search for better ways to manage their fleet communications and distribute the large blocks of data used by onboard data repositories for In-Flight Entertainment systems, onboard sales, EFBs and maintenance applications.

ARINC Incorporated today announced a solution: the AeroConnxTM integrated solution for onboard information management is designed to streamline the delivery of operational messages to airline fleets and to automate the delivery and verification of data updates.

The company will demonstrate its AeroConnx solution to airlines attending Aviation Outlook Asia 2008, October 29-31 in Singapore.

“AeroConnx is an integrated suite of tools and services offering airlines efficient management of their flight-related messaging as well as fully-automated data distribution to onboard data repositories” stated Randy Pizzi, Vice President and Managing Director, ARINC Asia/Pacific. “Solving these two problems will mean increased efficiency, productivity, and lower operational costs for our airline customers.”

Key components of the AeroConnx platform are the ARINC Content Management System (CMS), ARINC AeroSyncTM communications service, ARINC Mobile Communications Gateway (MCG) for wireless connectivity, and ARINC’s Program Manager, a powerful open-source software platform that runs and manages all types of flight applications on any electronic flight bag system.

“AeroConnx is the world’s first comprehensive system for data and message management,” continued Pizzi. “Integrating a solution such as AeroConnx is a delicate process that requires a high degree of experience in systems integration, as well as the ability to analyze customers’ processes and minimize operational changes during deployment.”

“ARINC has an established track record in systems integration which positions us strongly to help airlines manage, send, and access critical information during all phases of flight,” continued Pizzi. “Our AeroConnx solution will help pilots, cabin crews and ground staff to do their jobs more efficiently and to work more cost effectively. We are extremely excited to showcase the new capabilities of AeroConnx at Aviation Outlook Asia 2008.”

Aviation Outlook Asia 2008 is scheduled 29-31 October 2008, at Raffles City Convention Centre, Singapore. For more information, visit the web site at http://www.terrapinn.com/2008/avasia/.
