ARINC Signing Latin Carriers and Ground Handlers for Economical New AviNet Mail Service
May 29, 2008
Annapolis, Maryland—ARINC Incorporated today announced it has introduced its versatile AviNet MailTM message service for airlines and travel-related industries in Latin America and the Caribbean. The company has signed three carriers and a ground handling company as new customers in the region since March.
AviNet Mail is a powerful private global mail service that offers greater security and utility than other Type B or Internet-based messaging solutions. Users of AviNet Mail can communicate seamlessly with all business partners including Type B, e-mail, ICAO, fax, and even SMS users—all from a single, user-friendly desktop interface. As a hosted network service, AviNet Mail reduces the need for costly proprietary mail systems and IT infrastructure, while enhancing airline communications.
New ARINC customers in the region include Santiago-based AeroCardal, one of Chile’s largest providers of international and domestic charter services. “Since we installed ARINC’s service we no longer have to use workstations to receive customer requests—we can use our mobile phones to receive messages anywhere on the planet,” stated Cristhian Vivanco, AeroCardal Chief Deputy IT & Management Control. “Good communication is fundamental to our business, and now we have an efficient and modern communications platform to stay in touch with our clients. ARINC’s customer service has also been without reproach or delay,” he added.
AviNet Mail is ideally suited for airlines, caterers, ground handlers, cargo operations, and flight dispatch operators. It can be leveraged to exchange mission-critical messages such as passenger information, reservations data, operational messages, and cargo tracking messages. It can even be used to uplink messages to aircraft, through ARINC’s GLOBALinkTM data link Service.
“The aviation community has come to rely on ARINC’s AviNet suite of services to conduct their daily business,” stated Jeannine Hendricks, Senior Program Manager, ARINC Aviation Networks. “AviNet Mail offers them one more productive way to optimize daily operations and enhance profitability.”
AviNet Mail is an IP-based SMTP/POP3 service that can be accessed using any web browser or existing e-mail application. AviNet Mail mailboxes are centralized in a secure data center on ARINC’s AviNet network, and the entire system is managed 24x7 by ARINC. Because AviNet is a private network, AviNet Mail users have complete control over delivery and blocking options to screen their messages and help reduce spam.
AeroCardal operates a modern fleet of jets, turboprops, single-engine aircraft, and helicopters, and is a leading provider of domestic and international charter services in Latin America. For more information, visit the web site at www.aerocardal.com.
