ARINC Named Top Vertical Channel Partner by CISCO for a Second Year

May 22, 2008

Annapolis, Maryland—ARINC Incorporated today announced it has been named Vertical Channel Partner of the Year for 2007 in the United States and Canada by Cisco, the leading supplier of networking equipment and management for the Internet.

"I had the honor and privilege of recognizing ARINC as a Cisco Vertical Partner Theater Award winner at our recent Summit," said Wendy Bahr, vice president of US and Canada channels at Cisco. "This award recognizes ARINC’s performance and success as a Cisco channel partner." ARINC also won the Vertical Partner Theater Award for 2006.

The award recognizes ARINC’s success in marketing Cisco products including video management software, VoIP technology, wireless access products, and Cisco IPICS technology for interoperable communications.

ARINC has integrated Cisco video management tools with its AIM® security system, used to protect critical national infrastructure such as electric power plants and airports. ARINC also markets Cisco’s VoIP and Wi-Fi technology in a range of advanced communications solutions. In addition, ARINC has also made the Cisco IPICS technology a cornerstone of its interoperable communications solution for public safety agencies—AWINSTM.

"We appreciate the support and recognition Cisco has given to ARINC for several years," stated Marvin Ingram, ARINC Senior Director, Public and Enterprise Systems. "Today, we look forward to making even greater strides as more public safety agencies recognize the critical role of interoperable communications in achieving their missions."

Cisco and ARINC recently cooperated in a major inter-agency emergency drill in Lincoln County, Oregon, demonstrating interoperable communications to dozens of county and local government officials from the Pacific Northwest. ARINC has also installed Cisco IPICS technology successfully in groundbreaking AWINS deployments from Florida and Massachusetts to Oregon.

AWINS (ARINC Wireless Interoperability Solution) is an electronic bridge that inter-connects all types of police, fire, and public safety radios. Telephone, cellular, marine radio, satellite links, and videoconferencing technology can also be included. AWINS can be deployed at fixed public safety offices or on today’s popular Mobile Command Unit (MCU) vehicles, where it can be rapidly dispatched to the scene of emergencies.

ARINC Incorporated, a portfolio company of The Carlyle Group, provides communications, engineering and integration solutions for commercial, defense and government customers worldwide.
