UK's Flybe Installs 64 New ARINC Kiosks for Its Customers at UK Regional AirportsApril 15, 2008Amsterdam—ARINC Incorporated today announced it has completed the installation of 64 new SelfServTM check-in kiosks for passengers of Flybe, Europe’s largest regional low-cost airline. The ARINC kiosks are installed at 13 UK regional airports located from Aberdeen and Inverness in the North to Newquay Cornwall in the south, and Jersey and Guernsey in the Channel Islands. Flybe’s passengers at these and many other UK airports can now enjoy convenient electronic check-ins using ARINC’s kiosk technology. ARINC is showcasing its efficient SelfServ technology as well as its new vMUSETM common-use platform during Passenger Terminal Expo 2008, taking place this week April 15-17 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands (Stand No 0750). Southampton Airport, Flybe’s largest base, now boasts 10 of the common-use-compliant machines to support its 34-strong destinations, while Newquay Airport (with seven destinations) has two. The final units were delivered in early April to Isle of Man Ronaldsway and Exeter Airports, Flybe’s headquarters. “We are committed to getting the seven million passengers a year we carry through our airports in the UK and Europe as quickly and efficiently as possible,” said Flybe Director of Marketing Simon Lilley. “These machines minimize queuing and really speed up the check-in process. Since the first kiosks went live in 2006, we have been very pleased with passenger feedback.” “We are delighted to be supporting Flybe and helping them provide an enhanced travel experience for their customers through our technology,” said Dave Poltorak, ARINC Vice President and Managing Director, EMEA. The new ARINC kiosks are ready for Flybe passengers at Exeter, Guernsey, Glasgow, Inverness, Aberdeen, Newquay, Jersey, Leeds Bradford, Doncaster Sheffield Robin Hood, Norwich, Southampton, Cardiff, and Isle of Man Ronaldsway. ARINC also supports Flybe at Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, and Belfast City Airports. ARINC is active at 100 airports globally, including its largest flagship operation at London Heathrow Terminals 1, 2, and 3 where its i MUSE common-use passenger technology maximizes efficiency and savings—extending the benefits of common use to all stakeholders—passengers, airports, and airlines. iMUSE enables multiple airlines to use one set of airport IT assets and information systems with ticketing, passenger, and baggage check-in available from a single workstation. Flybe is Europe’s largest regional low cost airline with 170 routes operating from 24 UK and 30 European airports. Flybe is the largest carrier at Birmingham, Exeter, Manchester, Southampton, The Channel Islands, Isle of Man, and Belfast City.
