Cisco Renews ARINC's Certification as Technology Partner for InteroperabilityMarch 19, 2008Annapolis, Maryland—ARINC Incorporated has been officially renewed as a Cisco Authorized Technology Provider (ATP) for Cisco’s IP Interoperability and Collaboration Systems (IPICS). The renewal means ARINC will continue to deploy Cisco’s advanced IPICS technology for interoperable communications in central communications offices, mobile command vehicles, or in tactical communications kits, connecting to IP or non-IP wired, wireless, or satellite networks. “Many states, counties, and municipalities are adopting ARINC’s AWINS solution to bring together their incompatible radios and communications systems,” said Marvin Ingram, ARINC Senior Director. “Cisco IPICS is a proven technology for interoperability among dissimilar LMR (Land Mobile Radio) systems and other forms of communication such as phones and PCs, making IPICS a highly valuable component to our AWINS solution.” The Cisco ATP designation is reserved for Cisco channel partners with a demonstrated depth of industry knowledge and expertise. ARINC is an industry leader in the deployment of interoperable public safety communications systems using Cisco’s IPICS technology, and was named Cisco’s US Vertical Partner of the Year in 2007. ARINC has been a pioneer in interoperable communications since launching its AWINS interoperability architecture in 2004. The AWINS solution enables standards-based technology such as Cisco IPICS to interoperate with other technologies such as video surveillance and mobile data systems.
