Airports Canada 2007 Conference Attendees to Sidestep Airport Lines with On-Site Check-In CapabilitiesApril 25, 2007Annapolis, MarylandARINC today announced that Canadian Airports Council annual conference attendees from Canada will be able to check in and print boarding passes for departing flights at the ARINC booth 117 during show hours. Airports Canada 2007 is Canada's largest airports conference and will be held April 25-26, 2007, in Gatineau, Quebec. The show is designed to bring together Canadian airport and aviation leaders for a two-day trade show and sessions on the challenges and opportunities facing Canada's airports sector. Attendees departing from Ottawa International Airport on Air Canada and WestJet flights will be able to use a self-service kiosk to check in and print boarding passes right from the show floor. Vancouver Airport Authority, which operates Vancouver International Airport (YVR), will provide the connection and configuration, enabling passengers to access both Air Canada and WestJet reservation systems for check-in. ARINC Managed Services will install the self-service kiosk and provide technical support. “ARINC is pleased to offer this time-saving amenity to attendees of Airports Canada 2007; expanding check-in capabilities for airports and simplifying passenger processing are important aspects in boosting the travel experience beyond expectations,” stated Mike Picco, ARINC Vice President, Airport Systems. ARINC’s latest SelfServ platform operates the self-service kiosk technology, allowing multiple airlines to check in passengers using a single set of shared kiosks. These kiosks can be conveniently located in open public areas or near specific airline check-in desks. Shared kiosks allow airports and airlines to reduce costs while giving passengers greater convenience. Dale Kirby, ARINC Marketing Director, Airport Systems will be addressing conference delegates at the ARINC-sponsored lunch on Wednesday, April 25, 2007.
