ARINC DirectSM Aircraft Maintenance Services Launches a Major Expansion in Scottsdale

December 14, 2006

Annapolis, Maryland—ARINC DirectSM today announced it is doubling the size of its aircraft service facilities in Scottsdale, Arizona, and adding a range of new maintenance and integration capabilities for business jets.

Construction is already under way to increase the company’s hangar space from 20,000 to 40,000 square feet. An additional 7,000 square feet of back shop and office space will be added as well. The expansion is scheduled to be complete in March 2007.

Growing demand for high quality maintenance and integration services is behind the expansion, according to Wayne Turnquist, Director of Aircraft Services. “Our demand for service work from regional and national customers has grown exponentially,” he states. “We are rising to meet that need as quickly as possible.”

ARINC has recently been awarded service contracts by three leading fractional-aircraft leasing companies, and offers a full range of overnight maintenance capabilities. It has also been named a factory service center by Piaggio Aircraft, JSSI, and Pratt & Whitney.

“We positioned ourselves as the preferred maintenance provider in Scottsdale by exceeding the expectations of the local customer base,” states Craig Bevington, ARINC Direct Senior Sales Manager. “This strategy enabled us to become a major provider of MRO services for national customers as well.”

ARINC Direct Scottsdale ranks among North America’s premier maintenance and modification centers, consistently achieving industry-leading turn-times. An FAA Part 145 Certified Repair Station, the facility offers most types of aircraft maintenance and repair. Expansion will do more than just double capacity. “We can now add to our technical resources and provide the next level of service,” says Turnquist. This will include another major OEM service center, increased on-site turbine engine repair capability, and rotorwing maintenance capabilities.

“Our plan is to grow and stay ahead of the needs of our Part 91 and Part 135 customer base,” he adds. “We will soon offer higher levels of avionics installations, integrations, and repairs, plus a greater range of interior modifications and refurbishments.”

ARINC’s Scottsdale capabilities cover more than 50 models of general aviation aircraft. The Repair Station provides all levels of inspections for Dassault Falcon Jet, Raytheon, Bombardier, Cessna, and Gulfstream aircraft as well as Learjet 20, 30, 40, 55, and 60 series. Mechanics are certified to perform maintenance on Citations, Beechjets, Falcons, Hawkers, Challengers, Gulfstreams, Learjets, and King Airs. As an FAA-authorized Designated Alteration Station (DAS), ARINC Direct has the ability to issue STCs on new avionics, airframe and engine installations. On-site staff includes Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs) and Designated Airworthiness Representatives (DARs) dedicated to STC work, electrical and structural engineering.
