Cairo International Airport Selects ARINC Managed Services for IT Support

November 7, 2006

Annapolis, Maryland—ARINC Managed Services, LLC, the global IT operations, maintenance, and staffing subsidiary of ARINC Incorporated, today announced a significant Operations and Maintenance agreement for technology support at Egypt’s Cairo International Airport Terminal 3, now under construction.

The company also announced plans to open a Cairo office in the near future to support the airport and other enterprise technology customers in the region. The agreement for Terminal 3 was awarded by Cairo Airport Company and its parent, the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation.

“We are honored to be chosen for this very important work, and we are determined to make a major corporate commitment in Egypt,” stated Jim L. Martin, ARINC Managed Services Senior Director. “We will open a staffed service office at Cairo International Airport in early 2007, giving us a significant business presence in Cairo, as well as ready access to many potential IT customers in Egypt.”

The new agreement follows a separate $22 million contract already awarded to ARINC Incorporated for Terminal 3 passenger technology—14 mission-critical airport systems

from check-ins and information displays to biometric gates

and advanced ramp control.

“We selected ARINC Managed Services to be our Operations and Maintenance partner in accomplishing a key objective: to enable knowledge transfer for implementation and support of our broader international hub strategy, particularly in the areas of service levels,” said General Fathi Fathallah, Chairman of Cairo Airport Company. “ARINC Managed Services is positioned to provide the support we need to achieve this goal through its technical and management experience providing performance-based contracts for IT services at airports. We are delighted to be partnering with the industry leader.”

“ARINC Managed Services has had fruitful discussions with the Cairo Airport Company and the Egyptian Holding Company," added Martin. “Based on their encouragement, we are making this serious commitment to bring our special systems expertise and advanced capabilities in IT Operations and Maintenance to new customers in Egypt.”

ARINC Managed Services has recently won support work at a number of major airports with its integrated service offering.

By integrating the support for multiple IT systems, the company helps airports eliminate overlapping costs and jurisdictional delays—providing an end-to-end solution for maintenance and operational supervision.
