ARINC DirectSM Launches Data Link Service for Gulfstream PlaneViewTM Cockpits

October 17, 2006

Annapolis, Maryland—ARINC DirectSM today announced the availability of data link service for Gulfstream 550, 450, and 350 aircraft equipped with Gulfstream’s all-digital PlaneViewTM cockpit. ARINC completed operational testing of its system with Gulfstream earlier this month.

The service launch means operators with Gulfstream’s PlaneViewTM cockpits now have a choice of providers for their data link and flight support services.

“It is our goal to make ARINC Direct the service provider of choice, and we’re very excited about this opportunity to support additional operators of Gulfstream aircraft,” stated Steve Means, ARINC Vice President, Aviation Solutions.

Gulfstream’s PlaneView cockpit, featuring Honeywell Primus Epic® avionics, is designed to permit the introduction of new features and functions. Operators stand to benefit from a choice of suppliers and a full range of data link communications options and services.

ARINC Direct service for PlaneView cockpits includes a full suite of capabilities: flight plan uplinks, graphical weather displays, and maintenance and operational messages, as well as industry-standard datalink messaging. ARINC also plans data link service for all other aircraft using the Honeywell Primus Epic® avionics suite, and will have more announcements in the very near term.
