ARINC DirectSM at Scottsdale Now Offering Factory Service for Piaggio Avanti Aircraft

August 29, 2006

Annapolis, Maryland—ARINC DirectSM today announced that its FAA Part 145 Certified Repair Station at Scottsdale, Arizona, has been named a Factory Authorized Service Center for the world’s fastest turboprop business aircraft—the Piaggio P-180 Avanti and Avanti II.

ARINC Direct Scottsdale becomes only the second Part 145 repair center in the U.S. to earn the Piaggio factory service authorization.

The unique Avanti II is produced by Piaggio Aero Industries of Genova, Italy, parent company of Piaggio America, West Palm Beach, Florida. The Avanti II is equipped with Pratt & Whitney PT6A-66 turboprop engines and the latest Proline™ 21 avionics. It can cruise at 41,000 feet with a top speed close to 400 knots—as fast as many small jets.

“ARINC Direct is proud to receive this factory authorization to support one of the world’s most versatile business aircraft,” stated Dave Poltorak, ARINC Vice President, Business Aviation Solutions. “Our dedication to top-quality maintenance along with our FAA Part 145 certification means ARINC Direct can offer Avanti operators the comprehensive support and maintenance they need, plus any upgrades they may want, to keep these remarkable aircraft flying efficiently and on schedule.”

The ARINC Direct repair facility in Scottsdale is among North America’s premier integration and maintenance centers for light, corporate, and regional aircraft. It offers virtually every type of aircraft maintenance, A through D checks, 24 hour AOG services, oxygen & nitrogen services, air-conditioning service, D.E.R./S.T.C./Field Approvals, structural repairs and modifications, avionics support and installation, avionics integration, and interior refurbishment. A hangar expansion to 40,000 feet is planned later this year. The facility is located at the Scottsdale Air Center, which was recently named the third best FBO in the U.S. by Aviation International News with its luxurious crew lounge, flight planning room, and other amenities.
