MAXjet—Small Airline Aims for Big Impression, Signs with ARINC for Communications

May 4, 2006

Annapolis, Maryland—Business executives scheduling a trip between New York and the U.K. can choose from literally dozens of major airlines.

MAXjet hopes they don’t. With its new fleet of two Boeing B767s, MAXjet Airways offers business travelers a new concept: the comfort of all-business class seating and the most aggressive fare structure to be found on the “international power corridor.”  MAXjet operates four flights daily between New York JFK and London Stansted, a convenient U.K. airport serving London and its suburbs.

“We believe the savvy business traveler above all else wants on-time performance with comfort and no hassles,” says Jeff Hadhazy, Manager of Systems Operations Control, MAXjet. “We asked ARINC to provide a comprehensive communications strategy to support our business plan. Our goal was to offer smooth on-time operations from day one, and we succeeded.”

Before launching scheduled service in November 2005, MAXjet came to ARINC for avionics advice. “We were able to help them specify a complete and efficient communications solution,” said Karla Cadden, Marketing Director, ARINC Aviation Solutions. “We also provided on-site engineering and implementation support to get their systems up and running quickly. It was one less thing they had to worry about.”

MAXjet accepted ARINC’s contract proposal for three services—GLOBALinkSM/VHF data link for air-ground operational communications, AviNet® for business networking with its global partners and airports, and OpCenterSM, ARINC’s hosted message delivery solution that simplifies airline operational messaging.

MAXjet flies Boeing B767 aircraft exclusively on its London-New York route. Its planes are outfitted with 102 comfortable business-class seats with deep reclines, and MAXjet’s foodservice and amenities are equal to or better than Business Class offerings of many major airlines.

Dulles-based MAXjet Airways Inc., is a luxury all-business class airline offering revolutionary low fares to transatlantic travelers. The company began its scheduled service from New York to London Stansted in November 2005, and on April 3 launched service 4 days a week between Washington Dulles International and London Stansted, with roundtrip fares from $1000. MAXjet provides personalized service, and its 102-seat configured interiors grant travelers spacious seating with a deep recline. For more information, visit the MAXjet web site at www.maxjet.com.
